We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to support month-end reporting, reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll, and day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have strong Australian accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to analyse financial data, maintain accurate records, and support compliance and financial decision-making. What are you expected to do? Manage and support month-end closing and financial reporting processes. Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and ensure transactions are correctly recorded. Prepare and analyse monthly financial and management reports. Review revenue, expenditure, balance sheet movements, and financial variances, providing explanations where required. Monitor cash flow and assist with cash flow forecasting and planning. Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing variance analysis. Provide financial information and analysis to assist management with business and financial decisions. Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. Perform and review bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies. Process fortnightly payroll and payroll-related reconciliations. Assist with BAS, GST, year-end reporting, and other statutory and financial compliance requirements. Reconcile home care funding, claims, client contributions, and Support at Home (SAH) financial transactions. Prepare and review weekly payment batches and expense reimbursements. Maintain effective financial controls, procedures, and supporting documentation. Assist with external accountants, auditors, and other financial reporting requirements. Review finance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation. Provide support and guidance across the broader Finance and Accounts function as required.
